You can scour the Internet and newspapers across the country, read every review and From Paris with Love is hated across the board. Give or take a few non stop action film lovers.
The One Simple reason, the United States is not the Enemy.
Self hating American Film Critics just seethe at the fact that a movie does not have us bad bad American's being killed in mass, and when a film such as this focuses on bad guys of another race the film is called; "a xenophobe's dream." as the National Post puts it. I would be remiss to leave out the review from the liberal rag LAWeekly, in which they point out how incredibly ingnorant and dare I say boorish we Americans really are; "Humor revolves around the two things most Americans know about les françaises: (a) We "saved their asses in World War II," and (b) they like to have sex." surprise, surprise more America hating.
A positive review will not be found because, From Paris does not contain some rouge US agent fighting against the corrupt, all white "boys club" of the CIA or FBI, or a mentally deranged American soldier or soldiers fighting against an evil US Corporation, corrupt Republican politician or peace loving blue tree huggers. So this movie will continue to be panned.
The main character "Wax", played by John Travolta, deals with Arab, and Pakistani Terrorists as they should be, short and to the point, meaning point and shoot, terrorist dead. No bureaucrat red tape, no Miranda rights, no water boarding, no Guantanamo, just see threat, eliminate threat! With some flash of course.
And who would have thought the story would be written by a Frenchman, Luc Besson. Perhaps the French are sick of what the political correctness has gotten for them in allowing the huge influx of militant jihadists into thier country.
If you are up for an action film that is a change of pace and has the Americans on the Good Side (yes with a Cowboy flare), go see From Paris With Love.
